Marsha Wolak has won the annual Ladies World Series of Poker (WSOP) Championship that has taken place at the Rio casino and resort in Las Vegas.
Hailing from Sarasota, Florida, Ms Wolak took on 1,055 ladies from around the world in the poker event that was strictly for females and she certainly made her mark, walking away with the title and a check for $192,344.
A former real estate investor, she has now decided to turn professional and will be playing poker for a living from now on.
Meanwhile, Joseph Ebanks also recently won the WSOP $10,000 buy-in Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em poker tournament at the Rio. He won the biggest check of the WSOP season so far, taking home $1,158,481 for four days work.
"This is a dream come true. It's what I have been working on ever since I came into poker, like seven years ago. I always wanted to win a WSOP bracelet," he commented after his victory.
