Dan Idema has gone one better than he did in 2010 by winning the 2011 World Series of Poker (WSOP) $10,000 buy-in Limit Hold'em World Championship.
After finishing runner-up in the same event last season, Idema returned with only one thing on his mind this year, to outdo his performance of 12 months ago and to taste victory - securing a winner's gold bracelet and a check for $378,642 in the process.
"Last year, I got very unlucky when we got heads-up. Mind you, I ran very well to get heads-up. I would say it is a surreal experience. It really hasn't all sunk in yet," he commented after winning this year's event.
Meanwhile, Poker Listings recently reported that boxing legend Audley Harrison has set his sights on winning a coveted WSOP gold bracelet.
He is presently playing in the $1,500 Six-Max No-Limit Hold'em event in Las Vegas, with the former Olympian having racked up respectable career earnings of more than $220,000 at the poker tables.
