This year's World Series of Poker (WSOP) $1,500 buy-in HORSE Championship has been won by Aaron Steury, defeating Michael Chow of Honolulu, Hawaii in the final.
Hailing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Steury was able to ride his luck to win $289,283 and a sought-after WSOP winner's gold bracelet.
It took three days for Steury to emerge victorious for the event, with almost 1000 players entering the tournament on Friday (June 10th). It was his first ever live tournament victory, made all the more special by the level of competition he was up against.
HORSE tournaments consists of rounds of Hold'em, Omaha, Razz, Seven-card stud high and seven-card stud Eight-high or better.
Meanwhile, Israeli-born businessman and poker amateur Amir Lehavot recently picked up the WSOP $10,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Hold'em World Championship at the Rio casino and resort in Las Vegas.
He bagged a winner's check for $573,456, as well as a gold WSOP bracelet of his own.
