Phil Ivey gets divorced

Seven-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet holder Phil Ivey is now legally a bachelor after a Nevada court granted him and wife Luciaetta a divorce.

The couple filed a petition just before Christmas and were reportedly both present when it was approved this week.

It caps off an eventful year for the Tiger Woods of Poker, who further solidified his reputation as one of the best card sharps on the planet with strong performances in cash games and live tournaments.

During the summer, he secured his sixth and seventh WSOP titles and also earned himself a place in the November final table of the main event, in which he survived two other competitors to pick up more than $1.4 million.

It is not known how much money Luciaetta is set to receive as a result of the divorce settlement, but it has been rumoured that Ivey's total worth could be in excess of $100 million.
