New casino and hotel complex opens in San Juan

San Juan has a new gaming venue following the opening of a luxury casino and hotel complex.

Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel and Casino by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide and Interlink Group has had its grand opening.

The 503-room property is located adjacent to the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan's newest vibrant commercial and residential district and at 20,000 sq ft, contains the largest casino in Puerto Rico.

Federico Sanchez, president and chief executive officer of Interlink Group, said: "We are proud to announce the grand opening of the new Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel and Casino, the first new full-service property in San Juan in more than a decade."

He added that the investment will create the area's premier hotel for business and leisure travellers and offers them exceptional facilities.

Old San Juan is home to a range of casinos, most of which are open until the early hours of the morning.
