When the chips were bagged at the end of the first day of play at the World Poker Finals at the Foxwoods Hotel and Casio in Connecticut, it was Todd Terry who led the way.
The gamer left the felt with more than 165,000 chips, giving him a slight lead over Danny Shiff, Adam Lippert, Jack Schanbacher and Soheil Shamseddin.
Other gamers to finish in the top ten were Michael Mizrachi, Chris Moore, Danny Illingworth, Alan Sasser and John Barucci.
Among those to exit the tournament on day one were Men Nguyen, Matt Glantz, Scott Montgomery, Robert Mizrachi, Jason Young and Chad Brown.
The top 36 players out of the 353 entrants will receive payouts in the tournament.
Whoever emerges as the winner will pocket $910,058 in prize money, while the runner-up will bank $463,332.
Last year, it was Jonathan Little who triumphed at the Foxwoods World Poker Finals to pocket $1.1 million in prize money.
