Matthew Glantz outlasted an impressive array of poker stars to emerge as the winner of the European Poker Tour (EPT) London high rollers event.
He sat at the final table with the second largest stack - 647,000 chips - but managed to beat starting chip leader Erik Cajelais in the heads-up to pocket the $866,537 first prize.
Among the players to compete in the tournament, which had a field of only 75 gamers, were Tom Dwan, Vicky Coren, Luca Pagano, Greg Raymer, Erik Seidel, Dario Minieri, John Juanda, Phil Ivey and Vanessa Rousso.
First to leave the felt at the final table was Shane Reihill, whose suited big slick failed to hit, making Adolfo Vaeza's pocket queens the winning hand.
Dennis Phillips exited next, followed by Finnish online star Ilari Sahamies, Leo Fernandez, Vaeza and Eugene Katchalov.
Glantz had 2.7 million chips to his opponent's 1.1 million and he eventually triumphed with his ace in the hole caught another on the turn, beating Cajelais's pair of queens.
His win in the tournament takes his total live competition winnings up to more than $2.8 million.
