French soccer coach Raymond Domenech has become the latest sports personality to express an interest in playing professional poker.
He told Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport that he would like to take on some of the game's best players at the casinos of Las Vegas.
According to Domenech his experiences coaching the French national team are likely to serve him well at the felt.
"My job helps me as I have learnt the capacity to analyze an opponent. Like football, a glance is all that's needed, a feeling," he was quoted as saying.
Others from the world of soccer that have been attracted to poker include former Italy striker Christian Vieri, who is thought to be considering a professional career in the game.
And Teddy Sheringham - a former Manchester United and England player - finished second in the Ante Up for Africa charity event held in Monte Carlo last month.
