Martin reveals online poker win

Comedian Steve Martin has revealed that he used to enjoy playing poker on the internet.

The Man With Two Brains star appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday night and discussed one particularly memorable $1,000 win.

Martin claimed he was playing poker one night when he got tired and decided to go to bed, taking some Ambien to help him sleep.

When he awoke the next day, he found that his $500 stake had turned into $1,500. He rang up the website concerned to see if there had been a mistake and they told him they had a record of him playing between 04:00 and 05:00 in the morning when he had managed to treble his bank roll.

Martin was on the show to promote his latest film, The Pink Panther 2. He mentioned poker when asked whether he has any hobbies.

Numerous film stars are known to enjoy playing poker, including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, James Woods and Jennifer Tilly, who holds a World Series of Poker bracelet.
