Palms UFC card unveiled

The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas is to host the UFC's The Ultimate Fighter 8: Team Nogueira v Team Mir on December 13th, it has been announced.

A lightweight bout between Efrain Escudero and Phillipe Nover will headline the televised event, which will feature 18 other mixed martial artists, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

Other matches that will be shown on TV include Ryan Bader v Vinicius Magalhaes, Wilson Gouveia v Jason MacDonald, Kevin Burns v Anthony Johnson and Junie Browning v Dave Kaplan.

December is a big month for combat sports in Nevada, with Oscar De La Hoya set to take on Manny Pacquiao on December 6th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

That fight is expected to be the highest grossing boxing match of the year and marks the 27th occasion that De La Hoya, the sport's top draw, has fought in the Nevada gaming mecca.
