Democratic candidate Barack Obama took his campaign to be the next US president to the gaming mecca of Las Vegas, Nevada this week.
It is the fourth time that Mr Obama has visited the state in the run-up to the election and the AFP suggests that it could be a key political battleground.
Both Mr Obama and Republican rival John McCain are known to be fans of gambling, with poker the preferred game of choice for the former, while the latter has a passion for craps.
It was not revealed whether Mr Obama took part in any gaming activities during his visit, but Mr McCain has played craps publicly numerous times in the past.
In other news related to US casinos and politics, a new bill being championed in New Jersey is seeking to remove the ban on casino employees running for office in Atlantic City, the Press of Atlantic City reports.
