The L'Auberge du Lac Casino Resort in Lake Charles, Louisiana was not hit too badly by Hurricane Ike over the weekend, its operator has announced.
Pinnacle Entertainment issued a statement suggesting that the hotel and casino, which closed its doors on Saturday, could reopen later this week, once it has been approved by officials.
"L'Auberge du Lac came through Hurricane Ike and the storm surge in good condition," commented Pinnacle's chief executive Daniel R Lee.
"We're particularly grateful to our employees who have worked hard to keep L'Auberge functioning as fully as possible," he added.
Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc upon the casino industry in Louisiana in 2005 and there were some concerns that the recent Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike may have a similar effect.
However, not much damage has been caused by either storm and the majority of casinos in the region look set to open their doors again in the next few days.
