Swimming great Michael Phelps got his wish over the weekend and met some of the biggest stars from the world of poker.
Phelps told the Baltimore Sun last month that he is a fan of the card game and suggested he would like to make the acquaintance of the sport's top names.
And over the past few days he got his chance, with Doyle Brunson revealing in his blog that he had dinner with Phelps at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
"I got a call that he was an avid poker fan and wanted to meet me, Todd [Brunson] and Hoyt Corkins," the Texas Dolly remarked, explaining that Jennifer Harman was also present.
He referred to Phelps as "a nice kid" and invited him to attend the opening of new live poker show The Real Deal at the Venetian next month. Brunson and Harman are both scheduled to take part.
