Rodriguez given Real Deal presenting job

Stand-up comedian Paul Rodriguez has been chosen to host next month's The Real Deal, a ground-breaking interactive live poker show, which gets underway at the Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino on October 22nd.

The 53-year-old, who has appeared in numerous movies including Ali, was chosen due to his ability to draw in the audience and keep them entertained, according to The Real Deal's organiser Merv Adelson.

Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Jennifer Harman and Daniel Negreanu are among the top poker players who will be taking part in the project, which will see the audience able to compete against them in a game. Numerous prizes are up for grabs.

"Paul was a natural choice to be the host of The Real Deal," Mr Adelson commented.

"He knows how to connect with an audience and keep them on the edge of their seats."

Mr Adelson is no relation to Sheldon Adelson, the casino mogul behind the Venetian's operator Las Vegas Sands.
