Poker legend Phil Hellmuth has commented on last week's revelation that top swimmer Michael Phelps is a big fan of poker.
The man who won eight swimming gold medals at the Beijing Olympics this month told the Baltimore Sun that taking part in the sport's biggest event - the World Series of Poker (WSOP) - is something he would like to do in the near future.
Hellmuth, who has won 11 WSOP bracelets - more than any other player - during his career, wondered in his Card Player blog whether he is among Phelps' favourite competitors.
"It would be cool if he were a fan of mine because Lord knows I'm a huge fan of his," the Poker Brat remarked.
The 2008 WSOP main event featured several big-name sportsmen, including snooker great Steve Davis, cricketer Shane Warne and UFC champion Forrest Griffin.
Davis was the only one of the three to win any money from the $10,000 buy-in tournament.
