Paul Oakenfold is to take up residency in Las Vegas for an entire year, he has revealed.
In an interview with the Sunday Mail, the 44-year-old suggested he is looking to hit the heights of the likes of Elvis Presley and Celine Dion, who have both done extended stints in the Nevada gaming mecca.
"I want to make it a big show like all the big singers have done," he remarked, adding he has produced some original material for gig series.
The legendary trance artist and producer will be the first DJ in history to put on a regular show of this size in Las Vegas, in what the newspaper refers to as "an ambitious project".
Oakenfold's new show, entitled Planet Perfecto, bears the same name as the Kent musician's label Perfecto Records, which he founded in 1989.
He currently resides in Los Angeles and implied that he intends to fly over to Las Vegas for the shows, rather than buy a house there.
