Hawkins still on track for OPOY record

Brian 'SNo0oWMAN' Hawkins is still in with a chance of breaking Isaac 'westmenloAA' Baron's Card Player online player of the year (OPOY) points record from 2007.

The internet professional has a score of 5,482, leaving him less than 3,000 points away from Baron's benchmark of 8,304, with five months left to go in the year.

His total is already better than John 'PearlJammer' Turner managed for the whole of 2007 - and he finished in tenth place.

Turner is currently second in the equivalent competition run by Bluff Magazine.

Alex Kamberis follows Hawkins in second position, with a gap of 726 points between them.

The man known as AJKHoosier1 overtook former frontrunner Halfrek at the end of July after earning more than 1,600 points in just over a week.

Joe 'ender555' Ebanks is fourth ahead of Mark 'DIPTHRONG' Herm, Jason 'Taknapotin' Somerville and Philip "USCphildo' Collins.

Baron lies in 13th place overall.
