Bette Midler will be the first person to take to the stage at The Venue, a new arena attached to the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana.
The acclaimed actress and singer, who has four Grammys, three Emmys and a Tony Award, will perform in front of 2,500 people in the new auditorium on August 8th.
Patrick Berge, whose Sceno Plus company is behind The Venue along with Harrah's Entertainment and AEG Live, suggested that the show may be the start of something special for the area near to Chicago.
"We feel confident it will become the most dynamic entertainment destination in the midwest," he remarked.
The casino's website implies that visitors should expect something of the quality of The Colosseum auditorium at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The arena has been designed by the same group of people.
Additionally, Horeshoe Hammond will host a leg of the World Series of Poker Circuit later this year.
