Shannon Shorr has suggested in his blog that playing poker well means more to him than wins or losses worth four figures.
The Tuscaloosa native implied he was annoyed with himself for losing $11,000 in an online game this week - although it was not the sum of money that appeared to cause the frustration.
"A five-figure win or loss these days is about what it takes for me to feel anything, but obviously as a professional poker player it's foolish to put too much stake on any one day's results," the rising star said.
Shorr has only landed in the money in three big live tournaments this year and perhaps only one of them managed to get him excited.
He made $8,335 and $8,745 respectively at events two and seven of the Five-Star World Poker Classic after coming seventh.
A third place finish at event 13 may have been more to his liking, however, earning him $92,690.
