An Elvis Presley impersonator convention in Las Vegas will attempt to set a new record for the most number of Elvis tribute acts in one place.
Among those taking part will be aboriginal comic Gerry Barrett, who explained to Grassroots News what the appeal of such an event is for him.
"Elvis has always been a role model for aboriginal people, including myself," the Winnipeg resident commented.
"When I added my tribute to the King in my comedy shows, it turned out to be wildly popular."
The record attempt will take place on May 25th at Harrah's Entertainment resort the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino.
Imperial has strong links with impersonators, with one of its main attractions being its dealers who dress up as characters and occasionally burst into song.
The casino also features close to 1,000 ticket-based machine games, all the standard Las Vegas gaming tables and a boutique spa.
