A new selection criteria has been drawn up to determine who will be sent invites for next year's NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.
The likes of Chris Ferguson, Jerry Yang, Jamie Gold, Glen Chorny, Andy Bloch, Paul Wasicka, Phil Hellmuth, Chad Brown and Ted Forrest will all benefit from the system in 2009, as they all fit in with the tournament's checklist.
Poker News reports that reigning player of the years from the World Poker Tour, World Series of Poker (WSOP) and magazines Bluff, All In and Card Player will all be given a seat, along with recent WSOP, National Heads-Up and European Poker Tour grand final winners.
Some spots will also be awarded to runners-up in the biggest tournaments, as well people who win multiple bracelets at the WSOP.
Entry to the competition costs $20,000 for everyone, with the exception of the few who manage to win their place through a qualifying event.
