Last month's fire at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas will cost owner MGM Mirage $100 million, it has been reported.
A combination of repair bills and lost revenue will add up to almost one-third of the initial cost of building the casino, according to Kolo8.
Monte Carlo, which used to be known as Grand Victoria, has 90,000 sq ft of gaming space, a spa and fitness center, a mall, a theatre and more than 3,000 rooms.
It caught fire in January due to an accident involving roof maintenance, fire chiefs have argued. The areas most badly affected were the upper floors, which forced hundreds of terrified guests to flee.
The casino is almost 12 years old and cost $344 million to build. It was famously used as the Average Joes hotel in the hit movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
