The Palazzo Resort-Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas is set to open its doors in just three days time, it has been reported.
According to USA Today, the luxury resort will be the first new operation to open on the Las Vegas strip for three years. Parts of it opened to the public late last year.
Exuding confidence, owner Sheldon Aldeson from Las Vegas Sands promised to win out over the tough opposition.
"We will cannibalize them. We're going to take customers from other hotels."
The resort cost $1.9 billion and is effectively an extension of the famous Venetian Casino Resort next-door.
USA Today called the new casino and hotel, which features over 3,000 rooms in a 642-foot high tower, the "jewel" in Aldeson's "crown".
The total gaming space is just over 100,000 square feet, making it about 20,000 square feet smaller than the Venetian, which also has a further 1,000 rooms.
