Card Player predicts close finish for online player of the year

Poker publication Card Player has predicted a "photo finish" in the race to become this year's online player of the year.

Matt Kay aka ch0ppy currently lies in first place with a slim lead of 144 points over Isaac Baron aka westmenloAA.

By Card Player's estimates, Baron could have about 40 tournaments left over the next two weeks to go ahead, with an eighth place finish in some events being enough to give him the win.

Kay and Baron have both won well over $800,000 this year, with Baron less than $22,000 away from the million dollar mark.

They have also both scored big in tournaments this month, with Baron getting over $74,000 for a third place finish and Kay winning an event to take home over $30,000.

Kay has been right at the top of the leader board since the start of 2007 after a big $201,000 win on January 7th.
