Isle of Capri Casinos, which operates in St Louis, has announced a second-quarter loss for the period ending on October 28th.
The owner of multiple gaming establishments, with a presence in Iowa, Mississippi, Colorado and the UK - among other locations - had a loss of $24.6 million, Marketwatch reported.
In the same period last year, the company made a profit of $9.6 million.
The reasons for the loss appear to be charges relating to the Iowa and Missouri expansions and a proposal for a new project in Mississippi.
Isle of Capri Coventry is also underperforming, according to the company, thanks in part to the smoking ban.
The company said that it is looking at cutting costs in the future and is reassessing all of its investments, particularly the UK casino.
It has been reported recently that several casinos in the UK are struggling, a phase which has hurt gaming company Rank.
