The MGM Grand Detroit casino has been described as a "knock-out" and a "visually-stunning" luxury casino-resort that will make "jaws drop".
Built at cost of more than $805 million, the resort is likely to appeal to high-rollers and those looking to pamper themselves in the salons and boutiques.
Complete with designer decor, lush plants, "celebrity-friendly" hotel suites, four lounges and famous chefs in three signature restaurants, the resort also offers almost 100 gaming tables and a floor dedicated to poker.
John Hutar, general manager of the hotel, told the Detroit News that the resort, which will open on October 3rd, is "way more than a casino".
"On weekends, we hope to be a big draw for the local drive market. There really hasn't been a luxury hotel in downtown Detroit."
Last year, Detroit was the country's fifth-largest casino market, generating revenues that amounted to about $1.3 billion.
