Casinos and hotels situated on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip could be dwarfed soon if a new proposal goes ahead, it emerged this week.
The Crown Las Vegas is a skyscraper planned for construction on the main strip - and if it reaches completion, the building will reach 1,888 feet.
While this height places it head and shoulders above other skyscrapers in the area, it also makes it bigger than the current tallest building in the US, the Sears Tower in Chicago.
The plans, which have already been outlined but were put in writing this week, have already been under scrutiny by a number of critics who discussed the issues likely to be faced by the consortium behind the project.
One of these could be the fact that the Crown Las Vegas may be so tall that it is considered an air hazard, due to its height and proximity to the city's airport.
