Jackson family fans gathered at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last week to splash the cash for the famous family's memorabilia - and raised an estimated $2 million in the process.
Among the items under offer at the casino was Michael Jackson's MTV award for We Are the World and a military-style jacket worn by the King of Pop, which sold for $24,000.
In excess of 1,000 items related to the Jackson family and their prodigious talents were up for grabs at the casino, with memorabilia such as a telegram from the late Marlon Brando, sent in 1984, raising $1,600.
Some of the money raised in the auction will be donated by Universal Express, which owned the items, to a selection of charities.
"I am excited for the children's charities that will be benefiting from the outcome and feel proud that we could help these vital organizations," said Richard Altomare, chairman and CEO of Universal Express.
Michael Jackson first rose to prominence alongside his siblings as part of the Jackson Five in the 1960s.
