The Venetian Macao casino complex in China is to be the setting for a match up between arguably the two greatest tennis players of all time, it has been revealed.
Current world number one Roger Federer will face off against seven times Wimbledon champion Pete Sampras on November 24th at the resort in China.
The game will feature as the final part of a three-game series that will see the two players compete in Kuala Lumpur and an as-yet unannounced third location.
"The tennis world has always compared and contrasted these two greats of the game since Pete Sampras retired in 2002. We now have the prospect of an absolutely classic game between two phenomenal sportsmen," said William Weidner, chairman and chief executive of Las Vegas Sands, which owns the Venetian.
Last weekend Federer ended bitter rival Rafael Nadal's 81 game clay court streak when he beat the Spaniard 2-6 6-2 6-0 in the final of the Hamburg Masters.
