One-armed bandits could be going digital with technology developments signaling increased control of the slots for casinos.
Multi-layer display technology company PureDepth has signed a deal with slot machine manufacturers International Game Technology to create a high-quality video display unit that will change bandits for consumers and casinos.
With the modernization of the machines, casinos will have more control over the price and payout, and will be able to effect variations immediately rather than use cumbersome manual changes.
Gamblers will be treated to a visual feast as operators are able to change symbols in line with other casino attractions - to match the face of a famous guest for example.
This is the last piece of the puzzle," the Associated Press reports gaming industry analyst for Jeffries & Co. Aimee Marcel Remey as saying.
"These new systems are so different from the slots out there now. You feel like it's an exact science, every time you pull."
