Kate Bosworth is the latest name to sign up for the big budget blackjack film 21, it has been revealed.
The actress, who played Lois Lane in the recent Hollywood hit Superman Returns, will star alongside Laurence Fishburne in the real-life story of a group of MIT graduates who beat casinos and win millions of dollars via a card-counting trick.
Card counting is not strictly illegal under the rules of blackjack, but nonetheless casinos do not permit the tactic to be used on their premises.
Kevin Spacey is to play the role of the MIT tutor who first provides his students with the idea for the scheme, which was famously documented in the bestselling book Bringing Down the House.
Spacey will also produce 21, which is set to provide actor Jim Sturgess with his big break in his role as Kevin Lewis, a graduate who joined the team in 1993.
Other actors rumoured to be on considering roles in the film include 21 Grams star Benicio Del Toro.
