The Blackjack Institute is to hold a one-day tutorial on the game conducted by two of blackjack's most famous names, it has been revealed.
The February 24th event in Las Vegas will see Mike Aponte and David Irvine instruct attendees on how to effectively beat the odds when playing the game.
Both Aponte and Irvine gained fame via their role in the MIT blackjack team, which has won millions of dollars from casinos around Las Vegas from 1979 until the 1990s.
"Lots of weekend gamblers pick up a blackjack strategy book and try to learn card-counting skills on a flight to Las Vegas or Atlantic City. This is a recipe for disaster and fiscal ruin," said Aponte.
"That's why we designed an instructional program that gives students the full breadth of blackjack knowledge, as well as the tools to tell when they're ready for casino play."
Blackjack has gained in popularity in recent weeks as players enjoy new versions such as the CryptoLogic-developed Hold'Em Blackjack, which combines the best aspects of the game with some of the strategies and skills used in poker.
