The itinerary for the sixth season of the World Poker Tour (WPT) has been announced by the organisers, with the series again focusing on Las Vegas.
The tour will begin in May at Paris' world famous Aviation Club, before moving back to its traditional Las Vegas home to host events at the Mirage and the Mandalay casinos, reports the Las Vegas Sun.
Last year's schedule saw the announcement of a host of new tournaments at locations including Foxwoods and the Bellagio. The current season is still taking place and culminates with the WPT Championship, held at the Bellagio in April. Organisers have confirmed that the luxury casino will also hold the season-ending event in 2008.
The success of WPT events was outlined by senior Las Vegas officials.
"We have some of the top poker players in the world, the ones that you guys see on TV all the time, coming into our casino," said Bellagio poker operations director Doug Dalton, speaking to the Las Vegas Sun.
"They don't just play poker. They play big-limit slots, they play craps, they play 21. You see an increase in your customer base for the pit, which comes from poker," Mr Dalton revealed.
