With the new poker-centric James Bond film still going from strength to strength in cinemas either side of the Atlantic, Daniel Craig's predecessor has revealed that he too is to join the gambling bandwagon.
Pierce Brosnan has signed up to play a mysterious card player in the forthcoming production the Big Biazarro, Variety.com has reported.
Brosnan will also help produce the film, which sees his character take a young card player under his wing and guide him to success.
New Bond film Casino Royale has gained favour with the public and critics alike, its poker-playing plot striking a chord with modern audiences.
And Brosnan says that his absence from the role has also led him to take a more hands-on role away from the camera with his production company.
"[Irish DreamTime] managed to make six films over the last ten years, but with Bond no longer in my life, it allows me more time and choices, and the chance to be adventuresome. I've been in all our projects so far, and I'd like to try just being the producer on some of these projects," he said.
