Poker debuts in travel agents' brochures

The ever-increasing popularity of poker, both online and offline, has led to a growing number of travel agents accommodating the game in their online travel brochures, it has been revealed.

With a growing number of players attracted to the pastime via online casinos and poker rooms, poker has secured a mainstream audience the likes of which has not been seen for decades.

Those wanting to enjoy their favourite pursuit while on holiday can now do so, courtesy of offerings such as the World Poker Tour (WPT), which includes many dates in the Bahamas and consequently is featured in a number of tour guides to the region.

Numerous Caribbean events are just some of the attractions to be found across the globe, as the industry seeks to reach out to the online community via a series of web-based competitions.

In addition, the ongoing promotion of Asia, specifically Macau and Singapore, as a gaming hotspot is sure to attract still more eager players from far and wide.

Events such as the World Series of Poker also offer online players the chance to travel far afield, with sites such as InterPoker.com regularly offering players the chance to fly to Vegas and compete in the annual event.
