Early UK media screenings of the upcoming James Bond film, Casino Royale, appear to have won over critics of the film, according to reports.
There had previously been huge controversy surrounding the announcement that Daniel Craig would replace Pierce Brosnan as the new James Bond, with critics and fans both declaring that Mr Craig was too blond and not suave enough.
But the general consensus of early reviews appears to back the decision, with the Daily Telegraph calling the performance "a terrific debut".
The eagerly-anticipated new film is based around Bond's struggles with a new nemesis, an evil gambling addict with whom he plays poker.
Roger Moore, who famously played Bond in the early 1980s, has given his backing to Mr Craig, but insists he isn't looking forward to the new film.
"The other thing that happens when a new Bond film opens is that I get bad reviews. The critics say: 'Thank God, he - whoever he is - wasn't like Roger Moore'," the actor commented.
