Casinos across New Jersey fell silent last week as government employees stayed away from work.
With no state gambling inspectors to check all was above board, the casinos were left unable to lawfully open, but the online community will have benefited from the problems.
While gamblers were forced to stay away from the casinos, the online gaming industry carried on as normal, attracting more gamblers onto the net as the slots stayed silent across the state.
Governor Jon Corzine has now signed an executive order allowing government employees to return to work, reports the New York Times and although the gamblers have begun trickling back to the casinos, no doubt many have now caught the online gaming bug, where wins can be easily as high as anything you'll find in a casino.
Whereas the casinos across the US are at the mercy of government disputes, meaning that gamblers cannot always be certain of when and where they will be next allowed to splash their cash, the online casino industry is much more stable and not affected by such whims!
