There is overwhelming opposition to the move in some quarters to ban internet gambling, according to new research.
A recent survey conducted by onlinegamblingmythsandfacts.com of 30,000 people in the US unearthed what many Americans feel about the proposed online gambling ban.
Conducted in March 2006, the study clearly highlighted the unpopularity of the federal government attempt to ban internet gaming.
In fact, the figures showed that a massive 80 per cent of Americans are currently opposed to the pending bills in Congress to ban online gambling.
Interestingly, the poll also found that 78 per cent of respondents do not feel it is the place of the federal government to restrict what adults choose to do on the internet.
The study follows a widespread surge in the popularity of online gambling.
